Support, results

Thanks to its financial support, WINOA (formerly named Wheelabrator Allevard) contributed to Dhaba Kids’ success and enabled Saksham project to be drawn up.

Therefore, since these projects have been launched, WINOA and its staff’s support made all the results possible :

•     90% of children supported by Dhaba Kids stopped working (while they were 78% to work in 2007).
•    All children are receiving an education, formal and/or informal, with attendance of public school for 54%
of these children (compared to 14% in 2007).
•    Children’s health has improved and 76% of these children attend a training on first aids.
•    Population’s attitude towards child labour has changed.
•    102 young people attend vocational training and 39 of them have found a job.

Trip to India

Yves Barraquand, WINOA’s CEO (formerly Wheelabrator Allevard), traveled many times to India to follow up on the supported projects progress.

In 2008, he saw how children in Delhi’s streets were living and therefore, how important Dhaba Kids project was.

Another trip was organized in March 2011 during which Yves Barraquand had the honor of awarding their diplomas to the first class of Saksham.
